As natural guard dogs, they should be protective even with extensive socialization. Protection training is unnecessary, but obedience training is recommended. The owners should be consistent and shouldn’t repeat commands if the dog doesn’t obey. Mastiffs are not the dogs for beginners. Contact many english mastiff breeders to choose a good kennel.
